I have 5 ducks that are 2 months old on a grower feed, and 3 chicks that are about to be moved to an outside brooder on the same, they also get supplemented with fodder (wheat, barley and black sunflower mix). I have someone giving me 5 laying hens and one rooster, can they eat the grower feed and fodder or do I need to get a laying feed? I want to eventually do mostly fodder and then my own mix, but keep being worried it wont be enough with what I have to put in the mix...is there a post or link to some simple homemade mixes? That would be duck and hen friendly?

Feed everyone a grower and make oyster shells available for the hens until you get your own mix going, personally I always make a ration available and feed whatever else I want as well, covers my basis.
