Laying impact of a move

I recently became the new owner of a flock of 5 mature hens. These were from a neighbor who is leaving the country.

About 4 days ago the neighbor brought them over. They spent the next 18 hours or so locked in their new coop at my place to get them used to it. And then I started letting them out during the day. They have taken fairly well to the new coop, going into it a dusk each night and using the roosts in there. However egg laying has been a bit off since the move. At their previous home, these birds were laying 2-3 eggs per day, fairly regularly. After the move this has dropped to about 1 egg per day.

I sort of expected there to be a decline in egg laying due to the stress of moving and all. But as a newbie, I wasn't sure if 4 days or so was long enough for things to get back to normal. Or if I should be looking more carefully for eggs hidden around the run or coop or perhaps signs of egg eating.

What is a reasonable expectation for this situation?

It will take longer for your new hens to get 'back to normal'. There is even the possibility that they will go into a molt prior to resuming egg laying. Rest assured that they will lay again.
