I think we just had a second hen begin laying, because on hen consistently laid in the nest box after placing a golf ball there. Now, we just found an egg on the ground. Should I leave the next egg in the nesting box to give hen #2 a visual cue? Or should I get a second nest box? We only have 3 hens.

You only need about one nesting box for every 7-10 hens so you're good. It takes the 'newbies' a little bit to catch up to where they're supposed to be laying. I'd put the golf ball back :)
