Laying signs?

My girls are a little over 18 weeks now. Some of their combs and waddles have gotten really red here lately but not swollen, and I noticed one of my Anconas had made a small hole in the ground and seemed to be nesting in it. Is that a sign it may be soon? After almost 5 months of raising them I'm excited to get my first egg!

Do they have nest boxes available, with some fake eggs in them?

My rhose island reds got REALLY noisy right before. And they paced back and fourth to their nesting box a couple of days leading up to my first egg. They were 19 weeks when the first laid and I think 2 more will today or tomorrow at 20 weeks. They were hatched together

Try reach your hand down to one of them, almost as if you’re going to pick them up. They might squat down, for pullets this usually means they’re going to lay within the next week or two.
