layying too many eggs

my female pekin has recently died.she seemed healthy the night b4 up and active with her babies and found dead by morning. she would lay upwards of 5 eggs daily this is not an exaggeration. is it possible all the laying depleted her and led to an untimely death? there were no injuries from a predator. all her babies were alive and well

I have never heard of a duck laying 5 eggs a day. Gosh just think of the amount of calcium and other nutrients she had to have to do that. I'd say very possibly she just laid herself out. How old are her babies? How old was she?

babies were at 5 weeks about when she died. babies have since found a new home where they can be better cared for. just me n my 1 lil girl now. we inseperable

Did you provide her with feed close to her nest?...She might of starved out in her Attempts to hatch....

when she was sitting she had food n veggies and water provided by her nest every day. shed been off the nest with her current bunch of babies when she died. they had been fed purina flock raiser crumbles with fruits n veggies. also checked over her feet for signs of infection and all was normal looking

certainly would like to know what happened so i can prevent it with my lil buddy that stayed with me. i look forward yo taking her everywhere with me for years to come
