lead paint--soil contamination

i'm not sure which section i should post this in but i'll start here. does anyone have any info about how lead in the soil (in the run) may effect chickens? we have an older house and therefore have lead paint contamination in the yard. because the yard is small there is nowhere really lead-free for the chickens to range. any help appreciated!
