Has anyone here done research to learn about their ancestors? What web sites do you recommend? How did you find out about your ancestors?

My dad did Ancestry.com.
Came up with repeated dead ends with my mom's family and his dad's family.
Until he started with my grandma (his mom).
She is directly descended from Henry VII (Henry VIII's father) through his daughter Margaret (Queen of Scotland). Then back through famous French King Charlemange, all the way back to Joseph of Arimathea.

i agree ancestry.com. I've traced my family back hundreds of years on both sides. It's a wonderful resource!

Ancestry.com works.

I have a great great aunt named Hermine.

The members of my family that I know personally are goofy; I am afraid what I would turn up if I dug for it!

Has someone taken a detour from the disboards? I seem to reconise you from there.
