We have to take a short trip and I am worried about leaving the light on my 2 week old goslings. It should get down to about 60 outside. They are in a brooder inside my chicken coop. I'm afraid that the chickens are going to be freaking out because they are locked up and knock the light down or something and start a fire. It's just a 100w bulb- but still.....

Will they be ok without the light for one night? There are 8 of them. Thanks!

If it only gets down into the sixties, I think they'll be fine without a light. They only need extra heat for about two weeks anyway, they just need to be kept dry. Can you have someone check on everyone a couple of times a day, even once?

Pooey. I think maybe I should keep the light on so it stays dry as well as warm.I forgot about the whole dry thing! I can't have anybody check on them or the free range girls will bust out and they'll never catch them.

Thanks Kim!
