LED light in the coop

So I was going to put a light in my coop to extend the amount of time my girls will have light. I was thinking of using something like this

Will the LED make a difference can they "see" it? I would just go turn it on in the morning before the sun comes up

I think that is exactly what I have......It works OK, depneds on what your needs are. I only have one fr a 8x1 shed and it gives the girls a bit extra light in the early evening. Mostly enough for me to check on them after dusk. I will install another window as the two existing windows are small. During winter we had many overcast days and the solar light was weak. I turn mine off in the evening, after last bed check. During the afternoon, before dusk, I turn it on. I have not tried the opposite, on early morning, then turn off later as I am rarelt up before dawn.....It is not as powerful as a 40 w bulb but it gives sufficient light for a smallish coop. Hope that helps.....I bought mine on sale at a hardware store, there was a smaller version that would not have been good for a coop though.
