Leg Bands for Coturnix Quail... anyone know about sizes?

Another begginer question for you all...


I have some Coturnix about to hatch in my incubator and I just found out a friend has some coming soon to. I am hoping to be able to identify the two flocks so I can switch out the males of one group to the hens of the other and vice versa. I have never done banding and am wondering if anyone can help me with sizes??? I found a great deal but don't know what size I need. I asked them and was to their bands size for Quial but that is for Bobwhite and day old pheasants. i don't think that will work for Jumbo Corturnix? Any one have a site where I can find this info or does anyone know first hand? Possibly a bird that is the same size so I could ask about that variety from them??? Any help is greatly aprriciated!

Most of the places that sell them have size charts that list what breeds and kinds of birds the different sizes will fit.

I'm using a size 4 , that I ordered from the Buy, Sell , Swap section on here... I think Hoofs and Hen Ranch.. she has an online order form, sends them out quickly and has all colors.

Okay, here you go, she gives a 10 % discount to BYC members. I use the size 4 for my Jumbo Coturnix and can put them on the chicks and adults... I just wouldnt recommend red as they peck at it more.. but I have purple, light blue, black and pink ones for mine so far.

Hmm I just went there with that link no problem? It does say #4 for Bobwhite also.
