Leg bands- what size??

What size spirals should I order if I decide to use them? I have both banties and standard size chicks coming. Will these be easier to remove than zip ties when the chicks outgrow them?

Spiral leg bands are not recommended. They have sharp ends and can imbed themselves in the birds' legs.

What is the reason you want to band chicks ? In most cases, it is not necessary ????

Try bandettes. Much easier to work with and they pose no injury risk. #7 for most bantams and #11 for large fowl.

Carla, thanks for the question. I am building a breeding stock and want to identify which birds came from my own and which came from outside. At this point, I have chicks from my hens, eggs from a breeder and chicks coming from a hatchery. The idea is to identify the best of the best and continue from there.
Suggestions and ideas welcome!!!!
