I just saw my chicken limping today. I caught her and she has a growth coming out of her leg. She is a wellsummer. I have no idea what this is or what to do about it.
It is hard and she didn't have any problem with me touching it. Any thoughts are welcome!

If the spur, hens do grow spurs. I've had like 2-3 hens at one time with spurs. Just their spurs wasn't sharp like roosters.

Are we looking at the spur or something else?
The top three 'fingers' are what face forward. And the next one down is the one that faces out the back. (Sorry I don't know the correct terms right now!) The thing by my thumb is hard and feels like a thorn. It is not present on her other leg. Or any of my other chickens legs.

I looked up spurs and I think you are right. Should I try to remove it since it is causing her to limp?

Check the bottom of her foot for sores or black spots. She shouldn't limp because she has a spur. Unless she is digging into her own leg with her spur as she moves around.

The bottom of her foot looks fine. No problems that I could see. Also not growing into her leg.
