Are chickens legs supposed to be one solid color? My bantam rooster has yellow feet, but some black has appeared and spread. Do you think it's normal? I also wanted to know if this is a side effect of leg mites because we're treating him for it right now.
 
The leg color has to do with their breed. Some chickens have spots or dark stripes or horn color on their legs. Pictures may help. Leg mites are more common in older chickens, and the scales of the legs flake and appear raised. The mites can't be seen but there will be a chaulky grey appearance to the legs and feet. see pics below:
