We have ten Easter Egger chickens that we got in December. They have been laying about a month.

One of the chickens I noticed was having trouble standing, putting her wing down to stabilize herself. No visible injury on her foot but she wouldn’t put her weight on her leg for long. She was sitting down in the run. I removed her from the run and thought she might be egg bound. After doing all the egg bound things, epsom salt, calcium, coconut oil, and feeling around she ended up passing a rubber egg that I thought was the problem. That was about 5-6 days ago. She’s showing improvement but it’s been slow.

She’s been in chicken quarantine for this healing period, lol, and today I added her back to the flock after introducing her yesterday and having her cage by the run so they could get used to each other again. Anyways since being in the coop, she took a super long dust bath and used her legs fine for that, and drank water that I have in a bucket with nipples so she has to stand. She also went into the coop and into the nesting boxes to lay an egg. I should mention she’s laid 3 eggs since the runner one.

The thing is she doesn’t graze standing, she’s sitting. She doesn’t walk around the run, she’s just sitting in one place. She flew out of the coop instead of going down the ladder. I have acv in her water and gave her electrolytes and vitamin B complex. Could she have an infection? Normal poops and eating fine. Any suggestions would be so helpful. Thank you!

She might suffer from a calcium deficiency which not only leads to egg-trouble but also some other issues.

You might want to administer a supplement (liquid or tablets) containing Calcium+Vitamin D3+Vitamin K for 7-10 consecutive days . You should see improvement after about one week.
