Legalize Bossier City!

Hello from Bossier City! When we moved here, I was upset to discover that any type of fowl is illegal in the city limits. I have just started a Facebook page with the purpose of changing the ordinance to allow the keeping of birds in the city. Please stop by and help change the law if you live in the city. I live in Cedar Park, TX and am trying to accomplish the exact same thing! It is very frustrating since the major and five city council members have yet to answer ONE email regarding this request. Animal control came to my door and has ordered me to remove my flock by tonight, which I will have to do to avoid daily fines. It's amazing that barking dog ordinances are not enforced but heaven help a chicken lover! I will gladly sign your petition as I am learning voices from afar carry weight as well! I will sign anyone's petition for chicken rights in their town. I didn't start a petition on change.org, but found one that I have signed. A response from change.org also besides a thankyou, will give directions on how to set up your own petition. Handy for those who want to get a petition going themselves as they sign yours. Thank you! Tonight we are actually heading to the second zoning and planning board meeting. The first one there were not enough members present to accomplish a vote either way. Tonight if all are present and have actually read all the supporting documentation, we hope to have the vote they request city council change the ordinance. What a process to make the change. City Council passed the buck since THEY couldn't decide. I love the Barred Rock for their cooing warble. Very quiet chickens. Being up north the wonderful Buff Orpington (spelling??) have LOTS of feathers and are wonderful.
