I have scrolled through lots of threads and really have come up with nothing. I have a Reeses Cream Legbar roo in a flock with other legbars as well as a number of Aracaunas. These were bought as pure Aracaunas, not EE's or Ameracaunas. They will not be old enough for laying for another 4 months or so. Of course I am interested in a darker blue egg. Has anyone actually crossed a Cream Legbar roo to Aracaunas? What were your results? The Aracaunas all seem to be hens. Or would it be better to have a Aracauna roo? If you have done this beyond the first generation I would also be interested in any info.

Yes, thank you for that. I did find that and read through it but none of the posters had actually done the cross and no one replied to a request for sharing experiences for any that did. The info on waiting till F2 to check for egg color was interesting in that but I have to echo wanting to have input from someone that has actually done this and their success .. or not. Cream Legbar X Aracauna only as I have no interest in generating EE type birds or green eggers.

Well, I can't really help you there. I have EE's and Marans. Sorry I couldn't help. I know how frustrating it can be to wait for a hen to lay their first egg. Let alone before they've been incubated.

Not only waiting for the first eggs ... I have to wait at least 4 more months even for that. I only have the one CL roo. If someone had better experience with an Aracauna roo I still have time to get one. If someone has done the cross I would be very interested in pictures too.
