Sorry, I have been dealing with multiple trees down from Hurricane Beryl at my sons in South Tx! No power for a week and has been a big mess. Thank God for generators anyway yes I know for a fact they’re pure because that’s all she has. She did tell me cockroaches are darker they will get a little bit different coloration to them, but will still have the dark in them as they get older. Thanks for your response.

Hope your powers restored soon! Fortunately when we get high winds here we usually just get a few downed trees and power outages that last a couple days or a week.Nothing like the damage along the coast! (WV)

I have never had brown leghorns so no experience at all with them. But how certain are you that both the mother and father of those chickens were brown leghorns? That cockerel especially does not match the colors I see in photos of brown leghorns. To me that looks like they could be crosses with brown leghorns and something else.

I'd trust the combs and wattles and other signs of sex such as leg thickness and posture more than colors of feathers.

Sorry, I have been tied up with trying to get hurricane clean up. 100% sure both parents are brown Leggins they’re changing color even more now. Thank you for your input.

Yes, it gets pretty bad. I’m living at my property in East Texas right now but last year here we got hit with tornadoes. luckily it came down and all the sudden hopped up and skipped over me and went down past me and touched back down. so the good Lord was definitely had his hand out watching over me. This time my house that was down on the coast just got multiple trees down and I lost hurricane fence where the trees fell on it. Other than that my weatherhead got twisted that my power was hooked to so I’m probably gonna have to replace that made that was in the freezer. I just went ahead and took it out and defrosted it the rest of the way because I knew the power was gonna be out at least a week and I just fed all the neighbors some barbecue.
