I have 6 eighteen week old leghorn hens and they just started laying eggs last week.Four of them are purebred leghorns (unnamed at the moment )and two of them are leghorn mixes( theyre names are cookie and betty). I noticed that all off there eggs are different shades of cream and off white colors. But i thought that leghorns are supposed to lay pure white eggs, though i expected cookie and betty to lay cream colored. So my question is what color eggs are purebred leghorns supposed to be?

Purebred leghorns are supposed to lay large white eggs. The color can probably vary a shade or two, but brown/dark cream eggs probably mean your birds are mixes.

Thanks for the quick reply :) , I am 100 % sure that four of them are purebred so its odd that they are laying these colors

Purebred Leghorns will lay white eggs, so any eggs you are getting that are cream colored are from Leghorn hybrids.
