They came like this a few weeks ago. They are ex bats and they don't seem to be fussed about it. I have tried to treat for leg mite but they resist all attempts at capture.

I have rescued 6 ex-battery hens and I can tell you that you're wasting your time trying to catch them. This is what worked for me, hope you'll find it helpful. There are of course other treatment options, just depends on the individual.

I would wait to start treatment until they had been in the coop roosting for at least 45 minutes. At that point, I would gently hold them in a basin of warm water to soften the legs and feet, then dry them with a towel, exfoliating gently.
After that, I dipped their feet/legs in olive oil to suffocate the mites, then I wiped that off & coated with petroleum jelly.
I applied the jelly to the affected areas 3x a week until normal scaled were present.
