May sound like a dumb question... But
Its freezing outside!!
Sould I open their door and let them go outside along with the heat thats in the coop so far, or keep them locked up where its warmer? It was 14 degrees outside last night and tonight, and in the lower 20's during the day!
I know I dont want to be out there long!

My husband and I had this argument all day long today. I wanted to let them out, he didn't. I mean, I wasn't going to FORCE them outside, but I wanted to give them the option. I think that most of them would've gone out, ice or no ice. I KNOW it wouldn't have fazed the turkeys!

Tomorrow I'm just getting up before him and opening the doors.

I open up EVERY day, and let them choose.

Our lowest low was -36 with windchill on sunday, and I closed them up early on that day.

When my chickens came in from playing in the ice storm yesterday, my one roo has icicles hanging off his tail. I went to pet my other roo after he got up on his roost and knocked the thin sheet of ice off his back.
If they minded being out in it, they sure didn't act like it. They had the door open to their coop and could have gone in at any time.
I kept them in today because we had to be gone and I was concerned about the thick sheet of ice covering everything. They threw a huge messy party in the coop!
Tomorrow morning, bright and early, they're going ice skating!

When the highs are below zero, mine don't want to be outside. We usually just close the door, then, to keep them warmer. When it's up in the teens, they still like to go outside.
