Lethargic chicken

This hen has been lethargic and quiet for the past 3 days. She will sit on the roost, but won't get up to get food or drink. She will eat and drink if we bring it to her and direct her beak to it. She will then eat for a few moments on her own. She keeps her eyes closed the whole time. I've checked her and her coop and can't find anything parasitic or predatory that might be causing it

Do you have photos of your hen and her poop?

Have you added any new birds recently?
When was her last egg?

You may need to cage her within the coop/run with her own food water so you can observe her. Check to see that her crop is emptying overnight, feel her abdomen for bloat or fluid.

Often laying hens suffer from reproductive issues like Peritonitis, cancer, etc. and they begin to isolate themselves and decline.

Do observe to see if she's being chased off from food/water or is being bullied, pestered by a rooster, etc. Sometimes a hen will isolate herself due to these issues too.
