lethargic chook

Please help! My chicken is lethargic...I have to pick her up to put her outside...and she doesn't eat anything. Any ideas what it could be? She still cackles away but just sits in the one spot.

I think we need some more info.

Age, diet, any recent changes to surroundings, living situation and so on. Anything you can think of even if you think it's insignificant.

However.. you say she cackles away. Have you looked into the possibility that she is broody? Is she really lethargic or does she not want to move from her chosen spot and screams at you because she has motherly instinct?
