Lethargic hen, bright green poop

Good afternoon, this morning I noticed one of my hens was laying down and quite lethargic from her normal bossy self. She got up and walked around a little when I went into the coop but she is definitely not herself and her comb is drooped over. I fed them and gave them fresh water, checked on her a few hours later and no change but when I pulled a little grass she walked over and ate some.

Every time I check on her she's laying down, this afternoon now there was a bright green poop in her run, then while I was in there she expelled another one. She seemed to work a bit at getting it out and then was squatting with her chest puffed up and head pulled back afterwards.

One of my other coops had a raggy looking chicken and I finally caught a mite on her so about 10 days ago I used Elector ESP on everyone, they were going to get a second dose this weekend but it has been raining. All the chickens seem a bit slow today, laying around and humkered up, I was assuming it is because of the weather.

She is still preening and interested in eating but her crop is pretty empty.

They are on the Purina layer feed and have not free ranged in over a week.

Any of your feed get moldy or are they eating any spilled feed that has gotten damp/moldy?

I'd check her crop first thing to make sure it's emptying.
If possible, get a fecal float to see if worms are part of the issue.

See that they are all drinking well and eating. Do check your feed for mold or for any feed that's spilled too.

It's been pretty hot here but we get a lot of moisture between heavy dews and rain. Damp feed wouldn't be impossible, I haven't noticed any clumped food. They do flick the feed out of the feeder and onto the ground some. I'll check the feed this evening.

Her crop was fairly soft but not much bigger than a golf ball yesterday morning but it was empty by the evening.

It's still dark out but the flock she is in is all up and out in their run, she's perched on a roost in the run, her comb is still flopped over, but she was standing on the perch.

Can you get a fecal float to see if worms and/or Coccidiosis are a problem?

I'd get some probiotics into her. A little buttermilk with white cooked rice would be good or you can give a little plain quality yogurt.

I'll check her crop in the morning, she was almost acting like herself again tonight, I let them all out in the yard and she cruised around like normal. No weird poops today that I saw. Feed seems good, no mold or clumps or much on the ground.

I was trying to find a poultry vet today, the local Ag extention doesn't do fecal float tests here, I was going to check our horse vet tomorrow.

Any good prebiotic sources for chickens that aren't dairy based? I'm not opposed to giving them dairy but I never have it in the house because I have an anaphylactic reaction to it. I could get almond or cashew yogurt, but can chickens have those nuts? Or Good Belly if I can find it.

You could use apple cider vinegar, put it in their water, 1tbsp per gallon of water.

You can purchase Probios, it's a good one to have.

Ask your horse vet if they can do a fecal float.

Ok, we have Probios here! Our horse decided to run into the fence a few months back and took a ton of care to get healed up, we gave her Probios after the antibiotics. Our vet put about 18" of internal stitches and a good foot externally.

I'll make sure I get him called in the morning.
