Lethargic hen, excessive drinking but not eating

She ended up passing. We had a necropsy and it turned out she had at some point eaten metal. She was anemic and had an intestinal blockage.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I found some of my hens fighting over a small piece of plastic, yes just plain ole plastic (not like a market bag but very flimsy paper thick plastic). The next several days, many of them would run to where they found the plastic, looking for more. They'll eat some of the strangest things and the things most people talk about are the things we actually see them eat. It's crazy to think about the things they eat that we don't know about. Either way, I'm so sorry. Even with the loss, it's good to know that you don't have anything going through your flock to worry you. She was an individual incident. I wish you the very best with your flock
