Hi,
I'm new to this forum, but have been reading it for a while. I really love my chickens, and want to help them stay healthy, so i appreciate your prompt replies! Here's what I've noticed, which isn't much:
She's a 'normal black hen', sorry I don't know her breed. She lives in a coop with one rooster and 14 other hens. for the past few days, she's been sitting with her beak in the corner on the floor of the coop, inside and outside, not eating a lot, not acting perky like usual. She seems to have a little white poop clinging to her butt feathers, but not lots of it. I haven't seen her poop, so don't know what it looks like.
We feed the flock mixed grains and scrap veggies and lettuce from the local market. Just plain water, no vitamins. sometimes they get meat or fish from a neighbor's freezer (defrosted, of course).
I've read about egg bound, crop impacted... but nothing is very clear with her symptoms. Any suggestions?
