Yesterday early afternoon I was tending to my flock of 12 week olds. they all looked happy and normal
a few hours later when I went to close up the coop one of the little pullets was all puffed up and lethargic, when I poored feed into the feeder she didn't move. Nor did she resist when I picked her up. Everyone else was fine
I brought her in put her in a dog crate with shavings, water, and feed. she remained lethargic, layed down immediately and never got up any time I checked on her last night. Her poop is bright green liquid with green solids in it, not an offensive odor. This morning she is acting a bit more normal. She's drinking and eating and standing. a bit more active.
I know these are vague symptoms. Any ideas? How long should I keep her in the house if she continues to improve. Do you figure maybe she just ate something that disagreed with her? The only problem with keeping her indoors for long, is I have chicks in my mudroom. So in order to keep them seperated this sick chicken is in my kitchen and well its a busy kitchen with five kids, so not much room for a chicken
