Letting chickens outside in the winter cold

How cold is too cold when deciding to let hens outside during the day? Currently in the teens where I
live in SW Utah.

Just leave the coop door open so they can get out of the wind. They'll be fine unless it's very wet.

I leave the pop door open and let them decide. I've had them choose to go outside when it was -4 F as long as a cold wind is not blowing.

I let mine decide. The door opens and closes automatically. My run is open on 2 sides. My run is protected from the worst of the wind. But there has been a couple times they stayed in idk if it was all day as i an gone to work all day. Usually they come running out when the door opens.

I do have shelters in the run, so they can get out of the wind. And with shower doors and plexiglass, I have some areas where it is a bit green house like - but not closed in. Mine have been outside on sunny days at -20 degrees F.

I have the pop door open every single day and let the girls decide if they want to go out or not. So far it's not cold that stops them, but snow.
