Some of my female coturnix quail have decided to lay all of their eggs in the same 'nest'. Ive decided to see if they will hatch them, and after watching them for a bit it seems that they all kind of fight to be able to sit on the eggs. Im going to get my incubator ready, in case they abandon the nest, and ive brought one of my roosters inside because he kept bothering those sitting on the nest. I will watch my other rooster and if he also bothers them i will bring him in too. I put some pine needles in front of the dirt nest to see if they will build with it, but if they wont use it ill get them hay. And when they hatch i will take them inside with whoever takes over the role of mom. So my question is, should i be doing anything else? Should i section it off so that only one girl can be with the nest, or is it ok for them to take turns?
