LF BBR OEG?

Do any BYCers keep and raise them? Not moderns and not bantams. Just LF OEG? Or know where to get some eggs or chicks? I've looked locally, not happy with what's here.

I have had true exhibition OE in LF off and on for 20+ years. At this point I am working on Crele OE bred from using my old John Merchant BB Red x crele oe bantam. I am in my 4th year of this project. I recently acquired some Large Crele to cross into them to improve the size.

Large OE have taken a hit in recent years with the death or retirement of some of its greatest breeders and promoters but there is a revival of sorts happening now.

The North east has always been a hot bed for large OE and I believe there are still those that sell eggs at a reasonable price. You will need to get hold of Sam Brush and I am sure he can get you all the info you need to get started. Sam has recently been visiting this board so look for his contact info there, if not I will get it for you when I get to the house tonite.

Bob thank you... I'd appreciate the information. 4th generation Crele? Any chance you yourself would have eggs this year? I've developed this terrible craving for some crele birds... lol. Crele is why I was looking for good BBR. Cher

All I have is one OEG BBRed hen. I can't find a roo for her, that hasn't been used in cockfights.

Well Shelley if I get a batch of eggs and manage a hatch I won't be using any cockerals for fighting. Not my thing, so maybe we can deal
