Lice and eggs

Hi guys.
I'm after some Lice advice. My girls recently had a very obviously lice out break. I dusted them with pestine, cleaned out coop, added pestine to nesting boxes and repeated 10 days later.
That was maybe a month ago.
I check my girls vents pretty regularly now and I don't see any lice but there are still eggs on feather shafts.
I'm hoping pestine killed them. So I'm wondering how long should they be present post treatment.
Wondering if I have a lice problem again even though I can't spot any and was pretty obvious last time.
Any advice?

Do you see any lice crawling on them?
Those hardened egg casings on the feathers, some have used coconut oil to soften them up and work them loose.
I would keep watch and if you see even 1 moving bug, then re-treat with the Pestene. Hopefully all that's left is just the casings though - they may eventually break down over time with dust bathing and preening.

I am not sure what pestine is, I will look it up now.

If you are seeing new eggs I would treat again.
Treat every week for at least 3 weeks....both birds and coop.

Pestene is a common Lice/Mites powder found in other countries. I'm assuming OP is in AU by the mere mention of it, but I "think" that some in the UK may use it too.

We don't have Pestene here in the US as far as I know. You must live in Australia where it is available. Here I have used Seven dust in the past but it is no longer approved for use on poultry. Now I use Permethrin dust and spray. When My birds were infected I took the egg/casings off of the feathers with a grooming comb.
