Hi there. Miracle, my Ameracauna, has lice eggs in her beard. And I killed one on her. We don't have a lowes or anywhere else that would sell Sevin near us. Would a bath work or the adults? What do I do about the eggs? Should I treat her only coopmate, Ella, also? There's also another coop right up against it with four other chickens. Do I treat them as well? Sorry about all the questions. I am getting a little worried D: Thanks.

Okay. We just found out that my friend had lice when she came over (._.) and she was snuggling with Mir... No wonder she has lice! Can humans transmit lice to chickens? My friend had lice before Miracle did, so Mir did not give it to my friend.

We are going out to get Dawn dish soap, some sea salt, and talk to the feed store people. I am going to bathe all 6 chickens, then putting come coconut oil on Mir's beard to loosen up the eggs/nits.

Chicken lice & people lice are NOT the same thing & can not be transfered from 1 to the other. You will need to remove ALL bedding & dust or spray the entire coop & run. 1 of the hens I brought home from an auction had lice & I dusted her with Sevin & doused the run, all the other birds & the bedding & nest boxes as soon as I reali2ed.

Okay. Thanks :) I went ahead and bathed her. 1 salt water bath, 1 dawn dish soap water bath, 1 vinegar water bath, and 1 rinse. I put coconut oil on the eggs in her beard and they fell off. We are getting DE on wednesday, and then we will bathe her again in two weeks.
