Is there something going on with this cockerel and pullet that I am missing? I am fairly new to chickens. They shake their heads a lot. It seems the black on his beak is getting worse. Don't know if that's normal or not? I was concerned about mites so I treated the little house with premetharin but only the house. Not the chickens. Was given wrong age at first but they are between 13 to 15 weeks now I think. I couldn't get as close up to the pullet as him.
Also, they stay inside their house a lot. They run into it everytime a bird flies over. They go outside some and forge but the door is open all day and they still stay inside a lot even though they are hot. The cockerel sits with his wings laid low I guess from being hot. When they are outside, they act pretty normal, forging and all. But they are definitely inside more than they are outside. That's seems strange to me also but I don't know...?
