Lice

Will Ducks and Geese get lice like Chickens do? Do I need to worm with Ivomec and how much do you use?...Gloria

I have not found lice on any of my ducks...

As for giving them medications I would be very careful..They are sensitive to most of them...

Ask the Vet if you are unsure....

Gloria I was looking through a bunch of other threads and forums and somewhere someone explained that all the time ducks spend in the water kills off the lice. Which tells me I will have to make an effort to get out that wading pool for my little flock at least once a week over the winter.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll just leave them be. They are really healthy so I don't think they have anything to worry about...GloriaH

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have never had any problems with mine.
