This morning I found one of my two light brahma's dead on the floor of the coop. Hen completely intact, looked like she just died and fell off perch. I was checking out the other hen and she has some blood on her legs where her feathers are (they are feathered feet chickens). I was wondering if this is coincidence or if they might have some kind of disease. Everything else looks fine on her. I have noticed one of my Bantam with feathered legs can get bloody legs sometimes too, I figured it's just part of having feathers there.

is the hen injured anywhere to account for blood

of not then it could be Cocci infection

Corrid for 7 days to whole flock to treat

There doesn't seem to be any other injuries maybe a little nibble on leg, but that could be from a mouse in the night after she died. Of my 14 chicken left only the one of the same breed seems to have irritated legs and is limping. I am new to this, I worry I'm gonna wake up to another dead hen in the morning.

I guess i need to research Cocci treatment.

Thanks,

Cocci has a few traits not always showing together or at same time

blood in poop
lethargic
cowering in corner
droopy wings
fluffed feathers

not all will be apparent and sometimes death comes before noticing

Any suggestions for home remedies I can do tonight? I have segregated the hen with irritated legs but now that I think about it my Mottled Houdan was kinda hanging out by barn tonight with ruffled feathers....this makes me sad. I love my girls.

Thanks for your help.
