Are these pullets or cockerels? They are 8wks old. Top picture is one chick & the bottom two are the other chick.
thanks Nancy & Doug

Pesonally, I think it's too early to tell, though I'm leaning toward pullet.

Beautiful birds! I love to see pretty Lights!

Post an up close picture of the back of their feet and might be able to tell.

Brahmas are slow to mature so this is a tough one. The first bird looks all girl but the second could be a boy, that's a fair amount of comb and wattles for the age. Really too young for saddle or hackle feathers to help with id, and spur bumps mean nothing at this age. Pullets and cockerals can both have spur buds, and lack of them does not mean a pullet.

Post again in a few weeks, 3-4 for a *hopefully* more definative answer!

I agree Brahmas are really hard to sex becasue they are so slow to mature. That being said, I think # 1 looks girly and I am going with roo on #2--looks to me like I see the little rows of side bumps along side the main cental row which speaks boy to me.

Brahmas are great birds, I hope you enjoy them!

My light brahma is soooo cute but she seems a bit mindless and flighty. All she cares about is to constantly forage and don't seem to care much of others. Not sure if it's just her or the breed in general, but she sure looks and stay cute much longer than others. As far as the IQ goes, I feel it's on a slower side so far, but I hope she gets better as she matures (now 4 weeks). She is definitely the most gentle of the ones I have when she pecks treats out of my hands.

I have four LBs and I believe I have two in question whether roo or pullet. Can someone please help me figure this out? These chickens are 11 weeks, they are somewhat all similar but maybe a little difference?! This is my first time having LBs and first time raising chicks so any information would be great to learn! Thanks in advance!

Chicken #2

I am thinking in this bottom picture, pullet left and roo right? Or could they both be pullets?
