Light comb, any ideas?

I've noticed that my girls comb had gone from reddish to a light pink. She's only about five months old and just stayed laying about a week ago. Her eggs seem to be healthy, with an almost orange yolk. Any ideas?

have you fed them anything in addition to the regular layer food? If I give mine too much bread or fruit scraps and scratch over several days, I notice their combs get pale. Also if they are going into molt or have worms the combs get pale. It could just be because she's just started to lay.

I haven't fed them anything unusual. They did have to stay in their yard for a few days, as our larger yard was being sealed, could the stress of that have caused it? What about worms, how do I find out if she has them?

you will need to look at her droppings. Look online for images of worms that chickens get and that will help - will also be gross! These suggestions are based on my experiences. good luck
