light in chicken house

Sometimes I can't collect my eggs until night and I am terrified I will grab a snake in the nest! So, I read in a magazine about hanging one of those push lights on the wall. It runs with batteries and the light is not overly bright. It illuminates the nests great, buuuuut it did not shine on the black snake in the corner. I wondered why I was only getting 2 eggs a day. YIIIIIkes.

Wow. I'm surprised the chickens don't go crazy. Maybe you should get one of those headlamps they sell in hunting supply stores.

I have a light in my coop, but I still take along a flashlight! Your best bet is to always carry one on those night raids!
