Light on or off

Ok So I have heard to lock your chikins up at night an when I do Ieave a light on or off. Does it confuse then as far as daylight an dark or does it matter. An it's a floresent light so no hot box nich an cool bout 75 at night

I never leave the light on at night, esp if you have laying ready hens...It will mes them up.....just my method though

Edit: How old are they?? I am assuming that if you have them in an outside coop that they are old enough to not need a heat lamp?

Some 3 months some a little older so yea they dont need heat lamp but do I reay have to close them in there

locking them in depends on what type of coop and run you have....and how secure the area is...and what types of predators you have in ur area.

I would leave the lights off at night. They need sleep too.

It's a12x15 coop/run The coop is 6x12 Cats are my main worry an It's pretty secure that I know of it's got a electric Frence top an bottom all the way around
