Rare Feathers Farm is proud to offer:

Info:

6+ Hatching eggs from my rare breeds flock. So far I have 100% fertility and 100% hatch rate with these here on the farm!

My roosters are HUGE (Standard) Light Sussex and two Light Sussex hens. I purchased these directly from Paul Bradshaw of Green Fire Farms this fall. These are NOT HATCHERY birds but Australian import lines. These are very friendly, hardy birds that are great layers of brown eggs.

The eggs are fertile & shipped fresh!

Breed Info:

These are PUREBRED, QUALITY birds from excellent stock (private breeder)--NOT HATCHERY BIRDS!

Hatching Info:

Chicken eggs take 21 days to hatch!

Additional Shipping Info:

Each egg will be individually wrapped to prevent breakage while they are in transit. I will send any/all extras just in case any of the eggs do crack or break. I will ship the eggs as close to the beginning of the week as possible (I ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & sometimes, on Thursdays) so they will not sit at the post office over the weekend. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me, I will be more than happy to answer you! I ONLY SHIP WITHIN THE U.S., SORRY I CANNOT SHIP TO HAWAII OR PR.

Fine Print:

I guarantee fresh and fertile eggs of the breed auctioned. However, I cannot guarantee hatch-ability due to many variables out of my control after the eggs leave my farm--such as shipping & handling, incubation equipment, and incubation methods.

Patience

Please remember I am not a 24-hour fast food place where you can order and expect service immediately! I am doing this as a hobby and I work as fast and efficiently as the time allows. I do have a 40+ hour per week "real job." I cannot guarantee specific availability dates, as I cannot guarantee the laying rate of each of the many breeds that I have. I will get to each and every person that places an order - in the order the date that I receive that order through the web store.

PAYMENT AND SHIPPING POLICY:
PayPal only please, NO E-CHECKS! Eggs are TIME-SENSITIVE & CANNOT SIT AROUND FOR A WEEK WAITING FOR CHECKS TO CLEAR without comprising hatch-ability! Please READ THIS & UNDERSTAND PRIOR TO BIDDING!

Payment must be received within 7 days of auction end or item will be re-listed & negative feedback WILL be left!

GOOD LUCK & HAPPY HATCHING!

I have purchased Light Sussex eggs from 3 different breeders. Two of them sent normal size eggs, 2 oz or larger. The third sent some very small eggs that looked to be pullet eggs and all were just over 1 1/2 oz. When I inquired they said they do not have pullets. Their birds have been laying for several months and that Light Sussex just lay small eggs. Since their line is the same as yours I was wondering if your birds lay small eggs too.

Mine are first year layers too but have been laying for several months and fertility is 80-90% with shipped eggs.

One of my hens lays small eggs, the other one lays slightly larger.

Overall, the lay the smallest eggs of any of my large fowl (but they are the largest birds) with my Sumatras laying a close second-smallest.

My cochins lay the largest brown eggs and my Creves the largest of any color eggs.

The Sussex lay most often--I've been getting two eggs (out of two hens) for weeks now) and the Creves the least often.

Just to be clear & because I have a customer now complaining about the size of these eggs--

YES, they are SMALL eggs.

YES they are first year layers--but have been laying for several months and fertility has been 80-90% with shipped eggs and I've done one 100% and one 90% hatch here at home with these eggs. The chicks do hatch out a little small but quickly gain, catch up & surpass their hatch mates of different breeds, as far as their size goes. They are very vigorous, healthy chicks.

I paid close to $200 per pair last summer for my (two pairs) of birds.

Do the math...I usually include at least 8 eggs per auction. Let's say you get 7 to hatch (just being a little conservative), LOL

So that's $3.57 per egg.

And this person is telling me he's not getting his money's worth because my birds' eggs are small?? Arghhh
