I am running a infra red heat lamp all the time will it affect the chickens, I can get up late at night and they are running around.is this to much light?

It depends sometimes they will be fine and sometimes in a case like happened to me they won't. I had my light on for my chickens till they were like 10 weeks on for 24 hours a day... then I put them on a timer and they were afraid of the light I lost 2 chickens from running into a wall and breaking there necks.

I did it once. Never again. I was keeping a heat lamp on 24/7 above their water. After a while they started eating the feathers off of each other while on the roost. I read somewhere that they need a certain amount of darkness every night or they will start getting nutty.
