Lights for Baby Chicks?

Decided that we're going to raise more chicks to add to the flock. I haven't raised chicks in about 4 years now, so I can't remember if red lighting is good or bad for chicks? I don't believe we actually have any red lights, since our old setup was a dual lamp with a bulb for light and possibly one for heat. Is that alright? Am I making a mistake by NOT giving them red light? The chicks I raised before turned out just fine without red light.

You can use the light, but the constant light can mess with sleep cycles. I use a cermamic reptile bulb, some use brooder heat plates/pads
