feathers on all 5 toes on each foot? Is this a good or bad trait for eventually showing, or does it make no difference?

Don't know the answer but I'm sure Sonoran Silkies will be along soon to answer.

In the meantime....

I have 3 rooster's left to chose from for my breeding, and I want to make sure I pick the nicest one for my ladies.

It's a good thing to have heavily feathered feet. Silkies must have feathering at least to the middle toes, anything more is fine.

I agree with LilPeeps, but not too long ago someone had a bird DQed for having too much foot feathering!

Bad judging IMO. Most breeders would LOVE to have birds with plenty of feathering on every toe.

Oh wow... I was wondering if they would or not. If it was a good thing I have a roo with it and would love to pass that gene on.

I hope his crest fills out more, but I think running a comb through the mess would help! LOL

His beard is very full too and really poofs out all around his cheeks.

I always have thought silkies could never have too much foot feathering ..looks nicer anyways. Ive hatched several that have so much feathering on all the toes & even on the bottoms of them..

Well it certainly caused consternation on the club website. Judges aren't always correct. Another big goof was when a judge told one of the best breeders that silkie tails are supposed to be held low--level with the back

Ok, I even know that is dumb!

I'm not showing yet, but I am working my way there... I want my daughter to grow up showing ... ect.

So do you think the listed would be a nice choice to keep?
