Limon has a broken femur.

We just finished at the vet. X-rays today.

Limon has an oblique fracture of the right femur, near her hip. Casting is not possible. Vet said surgery would probably kill her.

I'm looking for advice from anyone else who's had this happen. She WILL NOT be euthanized. Don't even suggest it.

Vet says she can live disabled. If the fracture doesn't heal on its own, this will be what we are dealing with.

She's on antibiotics, will be getting her usual peas and cucumber as a treat daily. We will be giving her beef bone broth, as suggested by the vet.

If you've been through this and have any helpful suggestions, please let us know.

Thanks everyone.

When my rooster couldn't walk like walk her for him and he sat in that for a little while and then he he ended up learning to use his one leg and he just hops around now to this day he's getting older and it's a little bit more harder for him but we just keep an eye on him and I'll bring him in and pamper them in the house but he loves to be outdoors with his panties even if you can't keep up with him he tries but I give him lots of love and try to spoil him the best I can we had a handful of chickens and now we just down to two hens. They're all getting older now we don't call ours they're more like our pets and we just make them comfortable as much as we can till the end of life but yeah good luck with your hen and I hope she heals back to normal
