My 4-month-old Columbian rock pullet has been limping for about 10 days. I see no cuts on her foot or leg, and I soaked it in peroxide to see if anywhere "bubbled." There is no heat and swelling. She doesn't react like it hurts when I palpate it and compare it to her other leg. I've soaked it in epsom salts for 3 days -- nothing. I believe it is her foot and not her leg, because she holds the foot up when standing and when she does put it down usually appears to be trying to take weight off the back of it (heel?). I am out of ideas! I don't know what to do for her! She is eating, drinking, pooing just fine.
I don't have a vet knowledgeable about chickens, so I'm trying to avoid going. Mine could take an X-ray, but that's probably all he would know to do. I think if something was broken she would have swelling or heat.
Any ideas on what else I could try???
Thanks!
