My hen is limping and her foot looks a bit twisted so I think she landed on it wierd or twisted it. Normally I’d seperate her for a day or two in a kennel but I’m leaving until tomorrow night so I can’t do much for her until then. She is still walking around and eating, I saw her foraging so she definitely can get to the water and I haven’t seen anyone peck at her. The reason I think she has slm is because my flock just recovered from a case and a lot of people told me even if the bugs were dead their feet would look bad for a while but one of her feet is a bit swollen along with the sticking up scales but I’m worried about putting Vaseline on her when it’s getting down to 20. What can I do for her before I leave and what should I do when I come back? The one picture I got is bad but I’ll try to get a better one.

If she's moving o.k. and not being picked on, I'd leave her for now and hope she babies the injury. Most of the time, they will self limit.

For the SLM, if its cold and you don't wish to apply oil/ointment or vaseline, then wait until it warms up a bit. You could use something like Ivermectin as well, that would be up to you.
