One of my Hens starting limping today. I checked her out and there seems to be a spot on her foot that at some point she was bleeding from... But has since dried up. She insist on being with flock and made a loud fuss when I tried to segregate her from the others. She is still eating and drinking, but limps and flaps her wings as she roams around. Should I put something on her foot or is there anything I can do? I've only had chickens for about 8 months and this is my first injury. Any help is much appreciated!

Wash it with soap and water and use Triple Antibiotic Ointment Without painkillers in it.

If it starts bleeding again or is deep wrap a band aid and some cloth tape around it like you would your finger. It should fall off in a day or 2 but if it doesn't catch her and take it off.

If its deep then you want to change the bandage every day.

Went through this with a chicken of my own who pecked her own toes off. I also had to keep bandages on her even after she was healed for a few months to break the pecking habit.

thanks! I did just that and she became very docile after. I have since pulled her from the others and brought her inside. She seems content inside her cage and is just sitting quietly on her towels. Hopefully she will be back to her normal self soon :)
