Limping older hen (foot spot or not?)

I have 10yr old Speckled Sussex, who is the flock leader and a keystone member of my flock. She has been pretty lively until recently when she started to sit around more and I noticed her limping. Even still laying eggs until fall.

To me, it actually looks like her hip is bothering her, but upon inspection I found an unusual spot on her foot. I would describe it as smooth and soft by comparison and slightly purple. Almost like a blister but not. It doesn’t seem to bother her having me poke it so I don’t think this is the problem, but have also never seen something like this before. For all I know, her foot has looked like this the last 5yrs.

Her feet have always been weird so ignore her funny toes.

I gave her some aspirin on sardines and she seemed a little more lively.
Curious what the community thinks of the spot in my photo.

Thanks.

To me it looks like a callous.
Maybe from how she roosts, that's pressure point and it's been rubbed smooth. I would monitor it to see if it gets better/worse/stays the same.

At her age, she may be having some problems with Arthritis. If the aspirin seems to make a difference, then consider asking your vet if they would recommend she get a script for Meloxicam for longer term use.
