Limping Silkie Chick

My smallest silkie is limping! I caught her today and felt her legs and joints... They are all moving fine... No open wounds or breaks... Her feet (especially the left one) might be a little swollen??? Any ideas what this might be and what I can do to treat it?

Holds her foot out funny... this is the leg that she seems to baby...

Do you see anything odd?

Looking back it looks like she's been favoring this leg for a while! I just noticed a slight limp the other day but thought she had something in her foot feathers, so I picked her feet clean and sent her on her way... But today she was REALLY limping?!?!?!?

I have no immediate answer for you. It cant harm to give a good general supplement like avia charge 2000... ensure the nails are not too long (clip just the tips)...

No thorns or hull breaches in the feet? Since you picked it clean, maybe it just got sprained while play sparing or jumping off of something. Just make sure it keeps on eating. A poultry vitamin supp would be a good idea too just in case.

Should I isolate her to keep her from jumping? She's acting normally and didn't seem to be limping as badly this morning... I'll see what happens as the day goes on and she is using her leg... But she's eating and "running" around the yard... Actually, this week was the first week she ventured out of the coop on her own... She had been hanging back with the little ones until about a week ago... So she's having fun and it doesn't seem to be upsetting her...
