Hello fellow chicken moms and dads!

so here I am again asking a question.
So I have a black Giant who seems to be limping. Brought her in washed her feet off checked for bumble foot and saw nothing. Checked for hot spots on her hocks and legs doesn’t seem to be any heat. I made a little place for her to stay that was comfy and all she did was scream and then try to kill herself banging into the bars, so I’d rather her not break her neck or a wing so I took her back out with the others. Should I just watch her for a few days and see if the limping gets worse? I’m at a loss here. There are absolutely no vets that take chickens near me (4 hours away) is there anything else I can do to help her? I think she bowling balled some other chickens last night or the night before getting onto the roost.

How is your chicken doing today? Any better? I would just keep an eye on her and keep her with the rest of the flock as long as she is not being picked on. I have had chickens injury themselves many times over the years and limped anywhere from a few minutes to weeks at a time.

Sorry, not sure why I’m not getting notifications! She seems to be doing better, no limping after a couple days, I’m sure one or the other girls probably bowling balled her off the roost. And she just had a bit of a sprain. Now I have another Giant limping 🤦‍♀️ Never ending with these wreckless ladies. Keeping an eye on her. She’s one that doesn’t like me to touch her. So when I get a chance to snag her I’ll check her legs and feet. :)

Glad to hear she is better. I know what you mean, it seems like there is always something going on with at least one chicken in my flock on a regular basis. I guess it helps keep chicken keeping interesting for us.

Hopefully, your other girl will recover quickly as well.
