an article about a black rooster named 'gever' (means man, or more biblically, cock)who is the center of a small town law suit. the town , whihc i had lived in many years ago (22) used to be partially agricultural and many peole had chickens. now it has turned in to a new 'green escape' for all the yuppie types that ran away from tel aviv, wanting country side, but w/o animals and farm noise.
courts have made the neighbhors get a restraining order on the cockerel, but the irate neighbhor went and bought the rooster from its new home, not sure what happend after that, but the neighbhors are still at war...

the person being sued explained to the court that a female cannot be w/o a male because it isnt natural, just like humans should be in couples (the noah's ark style); he also wanted fertile eggs. the court told him to buy fertile eggs and let his hens brood them.the court also said it understood that it used to be that people in these towns used cocks to crow instead of alarms, to get up early in the mornings, but nowadays there are alarm clocks and phone alarms so this is no longer needed.
